Obituary for Lois Harris--

Lois Harris, age 83 of Charles City, Iowa, died Monday morning, October 8, 2012, at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church, Nashua with Rev. Thomas Hagen presiding.

Interment will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City with Andrew Gibson, Adam Gibson, Rodney Harris, Jessica Harris, Joseph Harris and Jamie Vierkant serving as pallbearers.

Friends may greet the family 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in Nashua. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Lois Ann Harris was born July 18, 1929, in Nashua, Iowa the daughter of Frederick and Frieda (Littauer) Harnisch. She received her education and graduated from the Nashua High School.

She was united in marriage to John T. Harris in November of 1947. The couple farmed in the rural Charles City area all their lives. Lois was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua. She loved to garden and bake. Sweet rolls and pies were her forte with danish and coconut cream pie her grandsons favorites.

Survivors include two children, Becky (Bill) Neal of Nashua and Phillip (Patty Strottman) Harris of Charles City; one son-in-law, Greg Vierkant of Charles City; nine grandchildren, Andrew (Angie) Gibson, Adam (Michelle) Gibson, Rodney (Tiffany) Harris, John (Kristen) Harris, Jessica Harris, Jalissa (Jeremiah) Mumford, Sara (Ben) Barnett, Jamie and Susan Viekant; sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1989; one daughter, Kristina Vierkant; one sister, Velma Jean Grey; one son-in-law, David Gibson.
