FOR V.C. CROWE,
CHARLES CITYCHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services will be held on Monday at Grossman's Funeral Home for Vincent C. Crowe, 43, who died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota, where he had been a patient since February 24. He Suffered a stroke on February 15 and suffered two more while in Rochester. The Rev. H.W. Putney, of the Congregational church will officiate, and military services will be held at Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Crowe was born on February 7, 1910 at Rosamond, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Crowe. He came to Charles City in 1935 where he was employed for six years at the Oliver Corporation. He went to Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1941, and into the Army for three years in 1942. For the past year he has been operating the Crowe filling station on South Main Street.
He was married to Joyce Bird, on February 14, 1941. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion.
Survivors re his wife and 9-months-old son, Wayne, his parents, and six brothers: LeRoy, Rosamond, Illinois; Eldon, Bartonville, Illinois; Eugene, Nakomis, Illinois; Milton, Avard, Oklahoma; Max, Pana, Illinois; and Donald, in the U.S. Army; and three sisters: Mrs. William Cutler, Louisville, Kentucky; Mrs. A.C. Westrick, Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. William Whalen, Morrisonville, Illinois.
