Wayne D. Crowe – age 60, of Pocahontas, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Wayne Dennis Crowe was born June 2, 1952, at Charles City, Iowa. He was the son of Vincent C. and M. Joyce (Bird) Crowe. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1970 and went on to attend Iowa State University in Ames.
On January 5, 1974, Wayne married Janet Reihsen in Ames. Wayne worked as a manager for Pamida Stores in Webster City, Pella and Pocahontas. He later worked in Pocahontas at Iowa Industrial Hydraulics, owned & operated the Pocahontas Coast to Coast Store, worked for Pocahontas Lumber Co. and in the late 1990's began working as a machinist for Armstrong Machine Co.
Wayne was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, Karl King Band, Humboldt Big Band and Pocahontas Community Band. He enjoyed reading, model trains, fix-it projects and traveling to visit his children.
Survivors include his wife, Jan of Pocahontas; children, John (Janessa) Crowe of Winchester, California; Bob (Jeannie Spear) Crowe of Fort Dodge; Teresa Crowe of Lawrence, Kansas; Paul (Lindsay) Crowe of Ames and Scott Crowe of Fairfield; two granddaughters, Kendra Marie Crowe and Olivia Scarlet Crowe and his mother, M. Joyce Crowe of Charles City.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Crowe.
