Former North Iowan Dies in Minneapolis

Charles City - Funeral services for John J. Laun, 75, former resident of this community, who died at Rochester, Minn., Thursday, were held Monday at 3:30 p.m., at the Hauser funeral home, the Rev. Wesley Pryor, of Rochester, former pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist church here, officiating, with interment in the West St. Charles cemetery.

He is survived by a son, Walter, of Minneapolis, Minn., a step-daughter, Mrs. Edna Miller, Englewood, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Brandau, Tinley Park, Ill., and Mrs. Mollie Pitts, Knox, Ind., and a brother, Frank Laun, Calgary, Canada.

Mr. Laun had farmed in this area many years ago. He contracted pneumonia following a hip fracture suffered earlier this month. He recently had made his home with his son, Walter. His wife preceded him in death.
