Ruby Chavez, 89, of West Covina, California, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Live Oak Rehabilitation Center in San Gabriel, California.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Ruby Virene Bray Chavez was born September 14, 1924, in Floyd County, the daughter of Charles and Grace (Monroe) Bray. She graduated from Floyd Consolidated School. Ruby lived most of her life in California.

Living family members include two sisters, Ruth Lahmon of Osakis, Minnesota, and Evelyn Gilbert of New Hampton; a brother, Clarence "Gene" (Gerry) Bray of Floyd; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and six sisters.
