Obituary

Mr. G.A. Holland was born in New York on July 4, 1856, and passed away at the home of his oldest daughter, Mrs. Charles Draeger, on January 7.

As a child he came to Creston, Ill., here he resided with his family until 1883, when they located on a farm near Rockford, in this county, where they resided many years and later moved to Rockford.

He was married to Mattie Hills of Creston, Ill., who passed away in April 1921. For about one-half year he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Draeger and family, where he was tenderly cared for in his declining years until death released the aged pilgrim, to take him to his heavenly reward.

He leaves five children, namely: Mrs. Charles Draeger of this locality; Mrs. Booth of Vinton; Roy A of Waterloo; Mrs. Jeffrey of Rockford and Guy of St. Louis. He is also survived by five brothers and eighteen grandchildren.
