OBITUARY --

Sarah Caroline Smith was born in Clayton County, Iowa, April 19, 1853, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Warner, May 12, 1918, at the age of 65 years and 25 days.

On April 23, 1869 she was married to Willard Kenny, at Charles City. To this union were born four children, Frankie, Sampson, Jessie, and Zoe, the first three dying in infancy. Her husband also preceded her in death October 13, 1915.

She was a member of the Christian church at Marble Rock.

She was kind and loving mother always ready to help others in time of need. She has been a patient sufferer for the past two years.

She leaves to mourn her loss on daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Warner and three grandchildren, Ceo Dedric, Lucy Bettis, and Gordetta June. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Lucina Merrick of Denver Colorado, and Mrs. Phoebe Williams, of Marble Rock, besides numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the late home, by her Pastor, Rev. A.S. Farnham, of the Christian church.
