F. B. Coons funeral set for Friday
Funeral services for Frederick B. Coons, 77, mill foreman at the Northwestern States Portland Cement plant, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the McAuley-Scanlan-Peterson Chapel.
Dr. George Truman Carl, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will in the Rockford Cemetery at Rockford.
Mr. Coons was born Aug. 7, 1883 at Buffalo. N.Y., son of Joseph and Jennie (Cole) Coons. He was married to Mary E. Hagerman April 22, 1908, at Charles City.
They moved to Mason City from Rockford in 1922. He had been employed by the cement company since 1923 and was a member of the 30 Year Club. He was also a member of the First Methodist Church and Benevolence Lodge 145, A. F. and A.M.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Richard O. Coons, New York City; two daughters, Mrs. A.J. (Winifred) Hobson, Hampton, and Mrs. Claud (Dorothy) Hain, Ventura, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Curtis, in 1938 and by a brother and sister.
Friends may Call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday.
