Services for Lorenz, Floyd County Pioneer, Are Held at Rockford

ROCKFORD, April 14 - Funeral services for Charles F. Lorenz, Floyd county resident for 57 years, were held Tuesday afternoon at The home in charge of the Rev. F.C. Worcester. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. Lorenz was born at Buena Vista, Ill., June 19, 1858, he was married to Bertha M. Kress at Charles City. To this union three children were born, June V., who died Sept. 12, 1927, Walter of Rockford and Russell of Lohrville.

Mr. Lorenz entered the merchandise business in Rockford in 1888 and continued actively in this business for 25 years. He served on the school board for a number of years. Mrs. Lorenz died Jan. 31, 1926.

Also surviving are one brother and four sisters, W.J. Lorenz and Mrs. J.W. Jeffrey of Rockford, Mrs. Mary Pfeiffer of Watertown, S. Dak., Mrs. Julian Case of Staten Island, N.Y., and Mrs. Charles Rummell of Wichita, Kans., and two grandchildren.
