Funeral Services for Victim of Accident at Rockford Are Held
ROCKFORD - The funeral of Harry Johnston, who was killed when a telephone pole on which he was working fell to the ground, was held Monday afternoon at the Methodist church, the Rev. C. E. Luce officiating.
Among those who came from out of town were Miss Olive Johnston from Newton, Mrs. Bert Johnston and daughter, Caroline, from Waterloo and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hill from Mason City.
Mr. Johnston was not married but had established a home for his sister, Ella, and for his niece, Olive, who teaches at Newton. He had been working for the Farmers Telephone company during the past summer.
For many years he assisted in the Gus Mitchell grocery store. The business houses and the telephone exchanges were closed during the funeral.
