TO HOLD RITES FOR DR. KRUSE

Rockford Physician Dies After Illness

ROCKFORD - Funeral services for Dr. Henry H.W. Kruse, 62, who died late Sunday afternoon at the Cedar Valley hospital in Charles city following a six weeks illness, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Lutheran church in Rockford, the Rev. Walter Fritschel, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, Charles City, officiating. Burial will be in the Rockford cemetery.

He was born in Hamburg Germany, Feb 19, 1881, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rolfe Kruse. Dr. Kruse was educated in private schools until the age of 10, when he entered the gymnasium at Hamburg. He was graduated from the University of Leipzig, where he received his Ph.D. degree, and received his M.D. degree from the University of Jena.

He was married in 1921 in Germany to Alma Renkea Buetting. They came to the United States in 1922, locating in Mason City. He served a year's internship at the Park hospital, Mason City, following which he went to Iowa City for examination giving him the right to practice his profession in the state of Iowa. He received his citizenship papers in 1934.

In 1923, he came to Rockford, where he purchased the practice from Dr. R.W. Steeter. He practiced here as a physician and surgeon until six weeks ago, when he became ill. Last week, Dr. Kruse sold his practice to Dr. C.H. Cords of Rudd.

Surviving are his wife and one son, Rolf, 16. His only brother, Dr. Carlie Kruse, was killed in World War I.
