Funeral Services for Clement Briggs Held at Rockford

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services for Clement P. Briggs, 53, Rockford, were held Thursday afternoon at the Rockford Methodist Church. He died Tuesday of self-inflicted gunshot wounds at a farm north of Cartersville. The Rev. George Baker, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Mr. Briggs was born March 20, 1900 at Rockford, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Briggs. He was married to Carrie Erickson, who preceded him in death a few years ago. Mr. Briggs also had lived in Charles City and Bassett.

Survivors include a daughter, Bettie, Mason City; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Smith, Des Moines, and Mrs. Albert Jannsen, Rush City, Minn., and a brother Charles R. Briggs, Rockford.
