Charles J Lacour Dies at 72; Paid Honors at Rudd

Services for Charles John Lacour, 72, of Rudd, were held at 1:30 p.m. in the Rudd Methodist church pm Saturday, May 29, with Rev. C.L. Oelfke officiating.

Mr. Lacour died Wednesday, May 26, at the home of his son Wilbur of Nashua, being stricken with a heart attack while at the dinner table. Music for the last rites was provided by Paul Staiker, with Mrs. Ivan Bartz as the accompanist. Mr. Stalker sang "Going Down the Valley" and " Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."

Mrs. Wilbur Witzel and Mrs. Fred Lacoste were the flower committee. Casket bearers were Milton Hirslt, Walter Lacour, R Melcher, Clarence Lacour and Gilbert Lacour, all of Charles City and Fred Pruessner of Rudd. Interment was at the Riverside cemetery at Rockford.

Charles John Lacour was born June 20, 1882, at Rockford. His parent were Fredrick and Christine Lacour. On February 25, 1914, he was married at the Flood Creek Church, to Miss Alma Duesenberg, who survives him. Other survivors are his son, Wilber, Nashua, a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Schildroth of Reinbeck, nine grandchildren, a sister Mrs. Walter of Fort Dodge, and two brothers Ed of Charles City and Rev. Emil Lacour of Oskaloosa.
