Darrell Putney, 51, of Charles City, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services for Darrell Putney will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Martha Bennett of the Grace United Methodist Church in Floyd will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home an hour prior to the service.

Darrell Glen Putney was born August 25, 1962, at Oceanside, California, the son of Herman and Barbara (Purcell) Putney. He graduated from Longview High School in Longview, Texas. On April 27, 2008, he was united in marriage to Colleen Frascht. Before becoming disabled in 2008 he was a truck driver and worked at numerous ventures. He enjoyed collecting frogs, camping, fishing, football and a good car race. Time spent with family and friends was always important, especially time with his grandchildren.

Living family members include his wife, Colleen Putney of Charles City; three children, Jerry (Adina) Putney of Overton, Texas, Amber (Tristen) Martin of Fort Worth, Texas and Nathan Putney of Longview, Texas; three step children, Cody (Heather) Dravenstott of Rockford, Cory Poyner of Charles City and Misty (Joe) David of Charles City; eleven grandchildren, Katlin, Chriscian, Corden, Isabell, Jayden, Marcus, Brennon, Taylor, Zoie, Preston and Kaven; his mother, Barbara Putney of Longview, Texas; three siblings, Wesley (Bobbie Jo) Putney of Charles City, Mike Putney of Longview, Texas, and Kathy Putney of Hallsville, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Putney; paternal grandparents, Herman and Clara Putney; and maternal grandparents.
