WATERLOO, IOWA -- Paul F. Downs, 92, of Waterloo, died Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the Cedar Falls Healthcare Center, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He was born October 12, 1921, in Sterling, Illinois, son of George and Ethyel Bundy Downs. He married Ruth Scheidecker on Jan. 30, 1948, in Charles City.

Mr. Downs was a factory worker for many years, at both Oliver Tractor Manufacturing, Charles City, and Universal Industries, Cedar Falls, retiring in 1981.

Survived by his wife of Cedar Falls; two sons, Dennis and Bill (Anne), both of Waterloo; a daughter, Pauline (Roger) Reincke of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Georgian McCracken of Zephyr Hills, Florida, and Grace Heddens of Charles City.

Preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers-in-law.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund will be established at a later date.
