Mrs. Wayne Vinton Feldman Dies

GREENE, IOWA - Gladys Mae Cook Feldman, 67, of Greene, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Floyd County Hospital hospice unit, Charles City.

She was born June 7, 1938, in rural Charles City, Floyd County, daughter of Heddie and Blanche Towner Cook. She married Wayne Vinton Feldman on January 17, 1960, at First Presbyterian Church in Greene. He died March 26, 2005.

Mrs. Feldman graduated from Charles City High School in 1957. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Lindemere Dairy in Charles City, then for several years was employed in the kitchen at Greene Community School. Since 1979 she had been employed at First State Bank (now Lincoln Savings Bank) in Greene where she recently retired.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Sherry) of Urbandale and Douglas (Kristi) of Greene; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Roger Cook of Alamo, Texas, and Robert (Karen) Cook of Charles City.

Preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Koenigsfeld; and infant twin grandsons.

Services: were 10:30 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, both in Greene. Reid's Funeral Chapel, Greene, was in charge of arrangements.
