NASHUA, IOWA — Arthur George Oudekerk, 70, of Nashua, died Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton.

He was born April 1, 1942, in Charles City, son of Henrietta Oudekerk. He married Arlene Sparks on February 21, 1969, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mr. Oudekerk attended Nashua schools, then served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Bigelow. He worked in the foundry at John Deere for nine years.

Survived by his wife; a son, Arthur “Art” Jr. (Terri) of Nashua; a daughter, Tami Oudekerk of Nashua; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date; he donated his body to the University of Iowa Hospitals for medical research. Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home, Nashua, is in charge of arrangements.
