Tilde Karoline Jeglum was born August 14, 1874, at rural Rudd, Floyd, Iowa to Ole Thorsten Jeglum and Guline Isabelle Lundene, the second of their eight children.

She was baptized on September 21, 1874 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Niels O. Nilsen; Ole Johnson; Olea Lundene and Kari Lundene (Lunde).

Tilde died March 29, 1878 at her parent's farm in rural Rudd, Floyd, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
