Dorothy Straube, age 91, of Osage and formerly of Rudd, died Monday, February 3, 2014, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

OSAGE, IOWA - Dorothy Straube, age 91, of Osage and formerly of Rudd, died Monday, February 3, 2014, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Dorothy was born October 9, 1922, near Kensett, the daughter of Arthur and Lora (Walk) Schultz. She attended country school near Grafton. On September 21, 1946, she married Robert Straube at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. They lived and farmed on the same farmstead near Rudd for more than 50 years. Dorothy was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Nora Springs and Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, genealogy research, and traveling after retirement.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Dennis (Cynthia) Straube of Rudd, Douglas (Martha) Straube of Rudd, and Rhonda (Douglas) Groshens of Rudd; grandchildren, Laura (Justin) Foote, Dustin (Sarah) Straube, Derek (Amanda) Straube, Terri Fitzpatrick and fiancé, JR Shook, and Kelli (Joshua) Soesbe; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 1997; sister, Harriet Navratil; and brother, Kenneth Schultz.
