Mary Ann (Hoeft) Knipschield Erdman – July 23, 1873 – January 9, 1955

Charles City – Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Grossman Funeral Home for Mrs. Mary Ann Erdman, 76, who died Monday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Carey, 105 North Johnson Street. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

She suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on March 8, 1949, and another on January 1st, from which she never rallied.
She was born July 23, 1873 at Ripon, Wisconsin, daughter of Carl and Mathilda Hoeft. When she was a child she came with her parents to a farm east of Charles City, where she grew to womanhood.

She married first to Peter W. Knipschield, Monroe, Wisconsin, who preceded her in death as did a son, Carl H. Knipschield, on April 18, 1917. She was married to William J Erdman at Wausau, Wisconsin.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Charles Carey, Mrs. E. S. Guenther, and one son, Ernest J Knipschield, all of Charles City; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild; others preceding her in death were her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
