MARBLE ROCK, IOWA - Funeral services for Robert L. Ritter, 64, of Marble Rock, will be 2 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Retz Funeral Home in Marble Rock. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery, Marble Rock.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday, December 19, 2013.
Robert died Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Robert L. ‘Bob’ Ritter was born on June 18, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska to Kenneth R. and Betty (Drehr) Ritter and died Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Robert lived with his grandparents Leo and Ethel Dreher in Hayward, California in his early years.
Bob moved to the Rockford area and met Judy, whom he lived with for 12 years. During that period of time, David, Judy’s son also became Bob’s son. He then moved to Mason City. In later years Bob and David would work together roofing and eventually formed R & R Roofing.
Bob then met Donna and shared the next 14 years with her. Donna’s two daughters, Ruth and Heather also became Bob’s children. The family left Mason City moving to St. Peter, Minnesota where Bob worked several jobs. In 1987, Bob and Donna were blessed with their son, Dustin. In the early 1990’s, the family moved to Charles City where Bob cared for his father, who was in poor health.
Approximately 10 years ago Bob had several strokes that left him disabled. He made his home at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. There he made many friends and good memories. Bob loved to collect Beannie Babies, spending time with his family and good stories. Earlier in life he would take his son hunting, go fishing, and enjoyed motorcycles and anything to do with eagles.
He is survived by his Sons:, Dustin Ritter, Tama, David Reibsamen, Mason City; his Daughters: Ruth Hildahl,Belle Plaine and Heather Cory, Sheffield; Daughter-in-law, Markita Zepeda Ritter, Charles City; Grandchildren: Serenity, Kari, Colton, Allison, Michael, Liz, Josh and Katie; Sisters: Bonnie Ritter and Debbie Ritter; Brothers: Ronald Ritter, Marty Sigler, Kenneth Ritter; many friends.
