NORA SPRINGS, IOWA -- Robert W. "Button" Seagrave, 68, of Nora Springs died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at his home.

Per Robert's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of Button's life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013, at the Nora Springs Christian Church, 102 N. Hawkeye, Nora Springs, with Pastor Glen Bandel officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the church on Friday.

Obituary for Robert W. "Button" Seagrave
Robert W. "Button" Seagrave, 68, of Nora Springs died Friday, November 22, 2013 at his home.

Per Robert's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of Button's life will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Nora Springs Christian Church, 102 N. Hawkeye, Nora Spring with Pastor Glen Bandel officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the church on Friday. Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Robert's name in care of his family.

Robert Weston "Button" Seagrave, son of Asa and Mildred (Bruton) Seagrave was born July 31, 1945 in Quincy, Florida. He attended and graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Following his graduation, Robert was a business entrepreneur all of his life.

He first opened a western store selling western attire and memorabilia for several years along with being involved in bull riding. He then spent time in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was a drummer for well-known country music groups. He then returned to Texas where he owned a painting business, painting both interior and exterior of houses and carpentry.

He moved to California for a short time, where he worked in security and returned home to Texas received his education in computer science. He was employed with DELL, Inc. for ten years.

In 2003, he met Susie (Stoltenberg) Herout and moved to Nora Springs in January of 2004 where they have made their home for the past 10 precious years. He had suffered from many medical problems over the past several years, but he lived every day to the fullest and with a huge smile on his face and love for those closest to him.

Robert was a "game-o-holic" who loved both computer and board games. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, music, and was very intellectual with computers. He had a special love for animals of any kind, especially horses and dogs. His favorite of which, was his Rottweiler named Brat.
Robert is survived by his fiancé, Susie “Stoltenberg” Herout, Nora Springs; uncle, Charles C. (Bertie) Bruton, Gatesville, Texas; aunt, Elaine Barnett, Gatesville, Texas; granddaughters, Aubrey and Lauren Tedder of Conroe, Texas; cousins, Randy Bruton, Terri (Danny) Baize, Mark Barnett and Lynn Barnett all of Gatesville, Texas and Eliese Barnett of Lampasas, Texas, along with many close extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jason Seagrave.
