CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Dean Edward Boyd, 5-year-old son of Jason and Laura Boyd of rural Charles City, died Tuesday, February 6, 1996, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center - East Campus, Mason City, of natural causes.

Survivors include his parents; a brother, David at home; paternal grandparents, William C. and Jeanette Boyd of Marble Rock; maternal grandparents, Ed Field of Floyd and Terry and Beverly Mathers of Rudd; paternal great-grandmothers, Claudia Boyd of Mason City and Lydia Henning of Allison; maternal great-grandparents, Eunice Field of Charles City, John and Rebecca Chambers of Marble Rock and Opal Mathers of Nora Springs.

He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandfather, Burt Boyd and John Henning; and maternal great-grandfathers, Harry, "Dock" Field and Vic Mathers.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Marble Rock United Methodist Church, with burial in Westside Cemetery, Marble Rock. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, Charles City, and an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Dean attended the Early Childhood Special Education Program at Jefferson Elementary in Charles City.
