Andrew "Andy" Cerio, 73, of Charles City died Thursday, November 7, 2013, at his home.

A funeral Mass for Andy Cerio will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. and a Prayer Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the church an hour prior to the Mass.

Andrew David Cerio was born April 3, 1940 in Syracuse, NY, the son of Anthony and Elvera (Anderson) Cerio. He graduated from Nottingham High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University. Andy served in the United States Army in Germany. On February 5, 1966, he was united in marriage to Inge Moses in Germany. During his working career Andy was employed with Borg Warner Corporation, White Farm Equipment Company and G&L Products as quality control and general manager.

He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he served in different capacities. Other memberships included the Housing Board, Rotary Club where he served as secretary. He also received the Paul Garthwaite Award, became a Paul Harris Fellow and received the President Award in 2005. He was also active in the community having been on the Charles City Council from 1985-1992 and from 2004-2011, Charles City Library board and the United Way.

Andy enjoyed traveling, woodworking, coaching Little League and was a competitive tennis player having advanced to the Syracuse City Championships in the 1950's. He will be remembered as a loving husband and devoted father who always took time to share life's experiences with his family.

Living family members include his wife, Inge Cerio of Charles City; three children, Debra Anne (Carl) Cerio-Dubois of Boulder, Colo., Nicole (Stephen) Clymer of Cedar Rapids and Andrew (Robin) Cerio of Eagan, Minn.; and four grandchildren, Samuel and Henry Clymer and Madeline and Abigail Cerio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Anthony Cerio.
