CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Kathleen “Kathy” Barr, 67, of Charles City, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Carl Ries will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Kathleen "Kathy" Barr, 67, of Charles City, died Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Kathy Barr will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Carl Ries will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Kathleen Ann Toepfer Barr was born September 19, 1946, at Charles City, the daughter of Ralph and Lucille (Hosper) Toepfer. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1964 and from Hamilton Business College in Mason City. On April 23, 1966, she was united in marriage to Richard Barr at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. For 28 years Kathy worked at the Floyd County Medical Center. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her interests included NASCAR, watching the Cubs, Packers and Hawkeyes, collecting Boyd's Bears, flower gardening and her pets. She also enjoyed the outdoors and family camping.

Living family members include her husband Richard Barr of Charles City, three children, Amy Barr of Charles City, Scott Barr of Des Moines and Michael (Meg) Barr of Bettendorf; six grandchildren, Ben, Amelia, Cameron, Gavin, Grayson and Greenlee; a brother, Richard (Bernice) Toepfer of Charles City; and her pets, Zeva, Riley and Rudy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
