Kenneth Lorenz, 90, of Clinton, Iowa, and a former Rockford resident, died Saturday, October 12, 1991, at Samaritan North Hospital in Clinton.

funeral services were held on October 15, 1991, at the First Congregational Church in Clinton, with Rev. R. Hamilton officiating. Burial was in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kenneth was born on March 18, 1901, in Rockford, Iowa, to William and Hattie Bowen Lorenz. He graduated from Rockford High School in 1919. He then graduated from the University of Iowa in 1929 and went on to graduate school at the University of Minnesota and Baylor Univ., Waco, Texas.

Kenneth was a science teacher beginning his career in 1919 in Rockford, Iowa, and later teaching in Port Arthur, Texas; Boise, Idaho, Knoxville, Iowa, and finally at Clinton High School where he retired in 1966.

He married Helen Wetzel, on November 16, 1935, in Floyd, Iowa.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church; western Star 100 AF&AM; Clinton Scottish Rite Bodies; KAABA Shrine, KAABA Oriental Band; White Shrine; High 12 International; and life member of the Iowa Sate Education Assoc.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; two daughters, Adrienne Gabel of Clinton and Andrea Lorenz of Racine, Wisconsin; one son, George Lorenz of Downers Grove, Illinois, and one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
