CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- Marie Chambers, 94, of Charles City, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Marie Chambers will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Beranek of Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home, and an hour prior to the service on Friday.

Marie Chambers, 94, of Charles City, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Marie Chambers will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Beranek of Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date. Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and an hour prior to the service on Friday.

Marie Lucile Wilson Chambers was born March 2, 1919, in Chickasaw County, Iowa, the daughter of Harvey and Agnes (Jermier) Wilson. She received her education at Floyd and Charles City.

On December 11, 1936, she was united in marriage to Raymond Chambers. They lived in the Charles City area all their lives. Marie worked for many years, 28 of which were at Salsbury Laboratories. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens.

Her interests included fishing, knitting, crocheting, crafting, and raising flowers. Family was always of greatest importance and she looked forward to those times when she could share life's experiences with them. Marie will be dearly missed, but family and friends look forward to seeing her again in heaven.

Living family members include her husband of 76 years, Raymond Chambers of Charles City; a daughter, Darlene (Larry) Neely of Charles City; five grandchildren, Rachel (DeWight) Connerley, Phil (Rhonda) Neely, Mark (Brenda) Neely, Tim (Donna) Neely and Steve (Ticha) Neely; 13 great grandchildren; and five great great granddaughters; two sisters, Dorothy Chambers of Charles City and Rose Mary Edson of Ionia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Georgie Hicok; and a brother, Harvey "Gene" Wilson.
