May, Amanda (Waller)

Miranda J. Waller was born near Durand, Winnebago County, Illinois, October 7, 1851, and when about 18 years old she moved with her parents and family to Platte County, Missouri, when she soon after married George R. May, when they moved to Charles City where they lived the remainder of their lives, Mr. May's death occurring Aug. 26th, 1901. Six children were born to them Elizabeth, Ware and Edward, dying in infancy, those surviving their parents being Glenn, of Chicago; Clyde of San Francisco and Nellie of this city. Mrs. May is also survived by two brothers - Richard, of Chicago and A. D. and J. P. of this city, and one sister, Mrs. DuCharm also of this city.

Mrs. May had been in poor health for some time and died March 31, 1916 with interment in the Riverside Cemetery.
