Tubbs, Harvey W.

TUBBS - Harvey W. Tubbs was born at Stevens Point, Wisconsin, August 31, 1873, and died at Charles City, Iowa, June 14, 1905, aged 31 years, 9 months and 13 days.

Mr. Tubbs while at work in his cornfield received the entire effect of a bolt of lightning killing him instantly.

The deceased was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tubbs and moved with them to this locality while yet a small child, making this city his home the greater part of his life.

November 20, 1898, he was joined in marriage to Miss Cora Ellsworth, who with a four year old son, a father and mother, four sisters and two brothers, remain to mourn their loss.

Mr. Tubbs was an earnest hard working a conscientious young farmer and in his business dealings with all people had been found to be honorable and upright.

Though he had lived and worked for himself but a few years he has proven by his thrift and economy to have been one of our most successful young farmers. Always of a happy hearted and genial nature his loss in the home and community will be keenly felt and thus not only a family is called upon to mourn but an entire community as well.
Funeral services were held from the late home on the T. J. Ryan farm Thursday. Rev. G. A. Hess of First Christian church officiating. The remains were laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery.
