Elizabeth (Riedlinger) Schaefer (3 May 1841 - 19 May 1907)

Elizabeth Riedlinger was born in Wheeling, Cook County, Illinois, May 3, 1841. Married to Rev. Peter Schaefer September 14, 1858, at Wheeling, Ill.

After twenty-five years of ministry she moved with her husband and family to Marble Rock, Floyd Co., Iowa, where she has resided until her death Sunday morning, May 19, 1907, after a wearisome illness of the kidneys for eight years which she bore in patience. To this union thirteen children were born, two of which died in infancy and 16 years ago her husband died. She leaves 11 children and two brothers to mourn her loss, W. E. and L. E. Schaefer and Mrs. D. Sell, of Oak Park, Ill., J. P. Schaefer of Hazel, S.D., Mrs. W. S. Holman of Omaha, Neb., Charles, Jacob, Mary, Lizzie, Julia and Cora Schaefer, of Marble Rock, Iowa.

Mrs. Schaefer's nature was kind and loving to her family and all her acquaintances.

Funer services were held in the German M. E. Church at Flood Creek, May 21, 1907, and were attended by a large audience.
