George H. Kerlin was born in Bellefonte, Pennsylania, October 24, 1881 an died at his home east of Rudd, October 10, 1898, of typhoid fever. Aged 16 years, 11 month and 16 days.

He came with his parents to this place when he was but one year of age, where he resided up to the time of his death. He had been confined to his bed since the 19th of September and all that skilled medical treatment and kind hands could do was done, but at the expiration of the 21st day his fever turned for the worse and death claimed him Monday night at about ten o'clock.

It came like a thief in the nigh and took him who was so young and so promising to the realms of spirit life - to Him whose decree is an irrevocable mandate, but "who doeth all things well."
