WARNE - Died, at her home in this city, Mrs. J. M. Warne, of tumor, June 5, 1894, age 65 years, 2 months and 5 days.
Margaret A. Tice was born March 30, 1828 in Bloomingville, Monmouth County, New Jersey, and lived there until she was married to James M. Warne, November 26, 1845. She was the daughter of Captain Edmond K. Tice. Mr. and Mrs. Warne lived in New Jersey for five years after they were married, then moved to Janesville, Wis., lived there until they moved to Charles City in 1860, and have lived here ever since. She was the mother of ten children, one dying in infancy, and two sons dying three years ago. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her loss. They were all with her at the time of her death. Mrs. Warne has been sick since last July, but did not give up her household duties until December. Since that time she has been a constant sufferer, put patient until the last, and was a kind and loving mother. Although she was a stranger to the writer, we have never heard for her anything but the highest praises. The funeral occurred yesterday, June 7, 1894, at 2 o'clock, at the residence, conducted by Rev. T. M. Evans and the Methodist choir. The remains were followed to Riverside Cemetery by a large number of sorrowing friends. The family extend their sincere thanks for kindness shown them during Mrs. Warne's sickness and death The CITIZEN extends sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.
