Citizens of Greene and community regretted to learn on Monday that Ben Pringle of Marble Rock was ill and had been taken to the Mason City hospital, but when the news came of his passing away on Tuesday morning, it was a distinct shock. He suffered on Sunday from a severe pain in his head and Monday morning when the pain become more acute the family took him to the hospital for treatment. The cause of his death was secondary spinal meningitis following mastoid trouble.

He lived on the farm where he was born until he moved to Marble Rock in October, 1931, where he went into the stock buying business. The past year and a half he has been employed by the Decker company at Mason City.
