Lyle Eugene "Eli" Poe age 68 of Ionia, Iowa, died Monday, August 12, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service, Saturday, August 24, at the Hide-A-Way Lounge, Ionia, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Online condolences for Lyle's family may be left at hugebackfuneralhome.com - Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Lyle Poe was born December 5, 1944, in Charles City, the son of Harold and Florence (Howe) Poe. He received his education in a rural county school near Powersville. He worked for many area farmers; Rolene Construction, Rausch Brothers Trucking, and Poe Welding and Repair with his father. Lyle also had is own repair business. On May 24, 1987, Lyle was united in marriage to Ardyce Jung in Nashua. To this union three children were gained. From there they moved to Ionia where they resided until the time of his passing. Lyle enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends, along with working on tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Ardyce; one daughter, Jeanette Liddle (Cory Hobson) of Ionia; two sons, Mark (Janet) Austin of Austin, Minn.; Hunter (Tiffany) Jung of New Hampton; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Jessica) Mealy, Mitchell Mealy, Claire Austin, Matthew Smith (Chris Brandt), Tyler Rosonke, Abigail Liddle, Blaze Jung; one great-grandchild, Mason Mealy; four brothers, Max Poe of Bellevue, N.E., Dale (Connie) Poe of Greene, Allen Poe of Cedar Falls, Gary (Janet) Poe of Maple Grove, Minn.; two nephews, Seth (Jacque) Poe, Aaron (Monique) Poe; one niece, Rebecca (Matt Peterson) Poe; two great-nephews; one great-niece and numerous cousins.

Lyle was proceeded in death by his grandparents; parents, Harold and Florence; one grandson, Jade Smith.
