CHARLES CITY, IOWA - The Matthew White family. 503 17th Ave. here, were notified Tuesday that their youngest son, First Lieutenant Stanley White of the U.S. Army was killed in a helicopter crash in Vietnam on January 3.

First Lt. White was born in Charles City, graduated from the Charles City High School in 1964, and attended the North Iowa Area Community College at Mason City for a year and a half before entering service on June 9, 1966.

He was a graduate of the officer Candidate School, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in September, 1967, and was assigned to the first Cavalry Division. He has been in Vietnam since June 10, 1968.

Funeral services are incomplete at the Hauser Funeral Home, awaiting word of the arrival of the body. Services will be held in the St. John Lutheran church, with burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his parents; three sisters: Mrs. William (Juanita) Mehmen of Nashua. Mrs. Cleo Boggess of Charles City, Mrs. Paul (Laurel) Martinson of Cedar Falls; three brothers: Gilman, and Arthur, both of Charles City, and Bruce of Nashua; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Alma White of Cedar Falls; and his fiance, Miss Joan Rowley of Charles City.

FIRST LIEUTENANT
STANLEY WHITE

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Services for First Lieutenant Stanley White, 23, who was killed on January 3 in a helicopter crash in Vietnam, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church; burial in Sunnyside Memory Gardens with full military honors by Co. C., First Btn., 410 Inf., Army Reserve Unit stationed at Waterloo.

Hauser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
