Albert Nelson Huffman of Charles City passed Thursday, July 4, 2013.

Al was born to Earl and Edna (Brookins) Huffman on January 2, 1931, in Waterloo. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1950.

Al married Dorothy Wheat and to this union a son was born. Later, Al divorced and married Wanda Blum and to this union three children were born.
Albert was a member of the Iowa National Guard. Al drove semi for Sperry Transportation and worked for Dale’s Automotive until he retired.

After retiring, he hauled grain for Carl Knapp and helped Jim Frisbee at the Red Roof Auction. He liked to fish and watch the NASCAR races and enjoyed his family visits.

Albert is survived by his wife, Wanda; four children: Eugene Huffman Fulton of New York, Karla Cagley and Lon Huffman of Charles City and Cindy (Eugene) Lines of Ionia. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Nicholas and Kayla Huffman, Christina, Jason and Matthew Cagley, and Trentin and Alex Huffman; three great-granddaughters: Emily, Lilly and Breanna; a great-grandson, Jarrett Huffman; and a sister Arlene (Ralph) Wineman of Chrystal Lake, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Darlene Blanck and in-laws Melvin and Lucille Roth, son-in-law Wes Cagley, and his faithful and loving companion dog, Penny.

There will be graveside services at Sunnyside Cemetery on Tuesday, July 9, at 3 p.m.
