Wreck Victim to Be Buried
in Cemetery Northwest of Rudd

RUDD, IOWA, June 18--Funeral services for Mrs. Louis Zaph, who was killed in Chicago when a bus rammed the car in which she and her husband were riding, will be held in the Catholic church at Charles City. Burial will be made in the Evergreen cemetery northwest of Rudd.

Mrs. Zaph and her husband were returning from their home in Old Hickory, Tenn., when the accident happened. The had been married one year and were on their first visit in Iowa since their marriage. Mr. Zaph is in a critical condition at the Cook County hospital in Chicago.

RUDD GIRL IS KILLED BY BUS

Mrs. Louis Zapf Dead and Her
Husband Near Death in Chicago

RUDD, June 17 - Mrs. Louis Zapf, about 25, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Bartz, residents here was instantly killed and her husband was seriously injured when a bus rammed their car in Chicago yesterday.

They were on their way from Old Hickory, Tenn. for a vacation visit with their parents at Rudd and Elkport when the accident happened.

Mr. Zapf, a graduate of Iowa State college, had been employed by the rayon department of the DuPont Manufacturing company. The pair had been married about one year and were on their first trip home since their marriage, Aug. 31, 1929.

They were extricated from the wreckage of their car and rushed to the Cook county hospital where it was found that Mrs. Zapf had been killed outright and that her husband was in critical condition. Details of the accident have not been learned at Rudd.

Mr. Bartz left for Chicago last evening as soon as the news of the tragedy arrived form the Chicago hospital.

Mr. Zapf's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Zapf, are residents of Elkport. Mr. Bartz is making arrangements for the bringing of the body of Mrs. Zapf to Rudd for burial.
