Keith Hadley, 87, of Charles City, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his home.

Memorial services for Keith Hadley will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church in Charles City. Pastor Forrest Cornelius will officiate. Inurnment will follow the service in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call an hour prior to the service at the church.

Keith Hadley, 87, of Charles City, died peacefully in his home on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, surrounded by loving family members.

Memorial services for Keith Hadley will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church. Pastor Forrest Cornelius will officiate. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

The family will greet friends at the church an hour prior to the service.

Keith Lawrence Hadley was born in Richland in 1925, the son of Mildred and Lawrence Hadley. After graduation from Richland High School Keith attended William Penn College in Oskaloosa for two years before enlisting in the Air Corp and becoming a B-52 pilot. After the war Keith attended Iowa State Teacher's College, currently University of Northern Iowa, where he met his future wife, MaryLou Wegand. MaryLou and Keith were married on June 6, 1948, in Greene. After teaching two years in Ellsworth, Keith and MaryLou moved to Charles City where Keith became manager of the Charles City Thermogas plant. It was during his years as Charles City plant manager that Keith, also served as a school board member for the Charles City Community schools. Keith worked as the Regional manager for several plants throughout the midwest for MAPCO before he retired in 1985. Keith valued family above all else and loved spending time visiting his five children, 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Keith is survived by his wife of 65 years, MaryLou; daughter, Jane (Jerry) Maland of Harrison, Arkansas, and their four children, Jenny (Ryan) Wallace, Justin (Sarah) Maland, Jeff (Traci) Maland, Jessica (Justin) McCutcheon; son, Jim (Peggy) Hadley of Ft. Smith Arkansas, and their five children, Michael (Michelle) Hadley, Sarah (David) Harper, Katie (Sam) Rivkin, Tommy (Liz) Hadley and Laura Hadley; daughter, Julie (Mike) Gatens of Iowa City and their three children, Nicole Gatens, Megan Gatens and Matt Gatens; daughter, Janet (Dave) Ralston of Scottsdale, Ariz. and their two children, Eric (Heather) Ralston and Emmy Ralston; and son, John (Jayne) Hadley of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and their three children, Annie Hadley, Molly Hadley and David (Katie) Hadley; and brother, Leon Hadley of Montgomery, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Kenneth Hadley.

The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers to be sent to Hospice of North Iowa, 232 Second St. SE, Mason City, IA 50401, the First Congregational Church, 502 N. Jackson St., Charles City, IA 50616 or the Charles City Community Schools "Excellence in Education" fund, 500 N. Grand Ave., Charles City, IA 50616.
