Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 1, 1986 at United Methodist Church in Rockford, Iowa, for Floyd K. Howell, 88, of Rockford. The Rev. Robert Shreve officiated, and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Mr. Howell died on Sunday, September 21, 1986, at his home.

He was born on June 3, 1898 in the Rockford area, to Charles and Anna L. (Knight) Howell. He married Ella Roehr in 1923, in Osage, Iowa.

He was a member of United Methodist Church, Rockford, a longtime member of the board of directors of rural schools of Scott Township, No. 8, and a board member of Rockford Co-Op and a member of the NFO. Howell was a lifelong resident of the Rockford area, and was a farmer and carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Ella, of Rockford; a daughter, Beverly J. Williams of Portola Valley, California; and a son, Rollin K. Howell of Marble Rock; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth E. Thomson of Monrovia, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
