Funeral services were held Thursday, September 25, 1986, for George B. Fredericks, 86, a lifetime Nora Springs resident, at First United Methodist Church in Nora Springs. Mr. Fredericks died on Sunday, September 21, 1986, at a Charles City hospital.

He was born on August 14, 1900, at Flanagan, Illinois, to George Fredericks, Sr. and Margaret (Peters) Fredericks. He attended Floyd schools and married Ada B. Dutcher on March 20, 1922, in Mason City, Iowa.

Mr. Fredericks was a member of First United Methodist Church in Nora Springs. He worked at White Farm Equipment for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Ada, of Nora Springs; four daughters: Mrs. Bob (Frances) Kelley and Mrs. Darrel (Wanda) Walker, both of Nora Springs, Mrs. James (Marjorie) Rockwell of Ramona, California, and Mrs. Bernard (Doris) Fitzgerald of Clear Lake; a son, Melvin "Mully" of Mason City; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ted of Rockford and Elmer of Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.

NOTE: The newspaper did spell the surname as Fredericks, but because Social Security spells it without an "e" after the d, and his wife's obituary spells it the same, we feel that the correct spelling is without the "e".
