DEXTER DANE DEAD
Will Known Cedar Township
Farmer Goes to RestDexter Dane, for many years a prominent resident of Cedar Township, died at the family residence, a short distance from Washburn, about 12:10 a.m. Tuesday. He had been in failing health for nearly two years with bowel trouble, but two weeks ago he was confined to his room and the disease assumed symptoms that indicated the end was not far removed.
Deceased was 68 years of age. He came to Black Hawk County from Rockford in 1864. Two years later he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Eason of Washburn. Six children were born to them, of whom only four survive: Charles, Fred, Elsie and Millie. The former was to have been married tomorrow, but owing to the death of the father the ceremony will be postponed.
Deceased had been identified with the Presbyterian church for many years.
Mrs. Dane survives her husband. The funeral will be held from the Presbyterian church at Washburn tomorrow at 2 p.m.
