Susan “Susie” Irene (Poncin) Pyle – June 26, 1897 – June 4, 1946

MRS. EARL PYLE DIES SUDDENLY
FUNERAL TO BE FRIDAY FOR RESPECTED MOTHER

Charles City – Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Grossmann’s chapel for Mrs. Earl Pyle 48, who died suddenly Tuesday at 11:30 p.m. at their farm home. The Rev. Wesley F Belling, of Charles City, pastor of the Floyd Methodist Church will officiate and interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Pyle was taken from Grossmann’s late Wednesday afternoon to her home, 903 south Main Street until shortly before the service when the body will again be taken to the Grossmann chapel.

Mrs. Pyle was born the daughter of Nick and Lucy (Wilson) Poncin, June 26, 1897, at Galt. She came to Floyd County when a young girl and made her home here for about 31 years. On February 26, 1915, she was married to Earl Pyle and to this union 2 sons were born. Mr. and Mrs. Pyle made their home in Floyd for a number of years, shortly after their marriage, then moving to Charles City.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; 2 sons, Elden and Glenn, all of Charles City; her mother; Mrs. Lucy Poncin, Emmetsburg; 3 brothers; Lee, Cedar Rapids; Ray, Emmetsburg; Nick, Galt; and 2 sisters; Mrs. Harley Malin and Mrs. Joe McCoy, both of Minnesota.
