CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Frances Veronica Merfeld Wiedemann, 68, of Mason City, formerly of Charles City, died Sunday, October 28, 1990, at Mercy Hospital, Mason City, of cancer.
Survivors include her husband, Hans; two sons, Daniel B. Merfeld of Omaha, Nebraska, and Peter M. Merfeld of rural Charles City; three daughters: Katherine Olsen of Stillwater, Minnesota, Jean Gerholdt of Charles City and Patricia Weiss of Manchester; two stepdaughters, Eva Elkberg and Dagmar McCarron, both of Washington, D.C.; a stepson, Ben Wiedemann of Mason City; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Kelly of Oconto, Wisconsin; and a sister, Evelyn Finn of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard Merfeld, in 1980; a sister; and five brothers.
She was a sales clerk for Roberts Clothes of Charm and Saxony's, both of Charles City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, Charles City, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Roseville; friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hage Funeral Home, Charles City, where there will be a rosary at 3:00 and a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m., both Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Development Fund.
