Hazel Margaret (Bobzin) Gage – June 9, 1908 – February 3, 1990

Hazel M. Gage, 81, of 5720 Johnson Ave. NW, died Saturday in Mercy Medical Center from complications of pneumonia and kidney failure.

She was born June 9, 1908, near Webster City, and married Clarence Gage Dec, 3, 1927. He died in 1985. Mrs. Gage taught in rural schools prior to her marriage.

The couple moved to Charles City in 1936 where they lived until 1985. She then moved to Cedar Rapids. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary, both of Charles City, Charles City First Baptist Church for almost 50 years and First Baptist Church of the Brethren in Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include three sons, Dr. Melvin of Cedar Rapids, Merlyn of Newark, Ohio, and Wayne of Des Moines; two sisters, Virginia Michael of Green Bay, Wis., and Thelma Stewart of Popejoy; and five grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Charles City First Baptist Church, by the; Rev. Jerry Springston of First Baptist Church of the Brethren.

Burial: Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Friends may call at Turner Chapel West from 4 to 9 p.m. today and at the church after 11 a.m. Tuesday. The casket will be closed prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Charles City, or the Kidney Foundation of Iowa, 2600 72nd St., Suite K, Des Moines 50322.
