CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at Sterling, Colorado, and at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grossmann Funeral Home in Charles City, for Eric F. Hoppe, age 65. Burial will be in Howardville Cemetery.

Eric died on Thursday at Sterling, where he had made his home since 1913. He farmed in Colorado from 1913 to 1945

He was born on October 18, 1889, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Ludwig and Augusta (Weber) Hoppe. Eric attended schools in the rural area. On January 31, 1912, he married Ferne Wald in Cedar Township. The couple moved to Sterling in 1913.

He leaves one son, Arval; and one brother, Paul; and two grandchildren, all of Sterling. He was preceded in death by his wife, an infant daughter, and two brothers.
