RITES SET WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. A. A. KENNARDCharles City – Funeral services will be held at the Hauser Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Emeline Kennard, 95, widow of Arista A. Kennard, who died Sunday night at the home of her daughter; Mrs. Helen Foster, 107 Sprigg Street. The Rev. Wesley F Belling of Charles City, pastor of the Floyd Methodist Church will officiate and interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Floyd.
Mrs. Kennard was a resident of Floyd most of her life and a member of the Floyd Methodist Church.
Emeline A. Strawn was born January 27, 1851 in Roscoe, Illinois, daughter of Joab and Samantha Rundell Strawn. She came with her parents to Floyd in 1859 where she was married to Arista A. Kennard, August 15, 1868.
Seven children survive: Earl M Kennard, Park Rapids, Minnesota; Mrs. Bert West and Mrs. Helen Foster; both of Charles City; Harry M. Kennard, Santa Barbara, California; Mrs. C. H. McGee, Colfax, California; Vernon G. Kennard, Decorah; and Leon D Kennard, Minneapolis.
