Ruby Mae (Stewart) Thorson – June 30, 1930 – November 8, 1996

CHARLES CITY -- Ruby (Mrs. Don) Thorson, 66, of 1935 Gil Ave., died Saturday (Nov. 8, 1996) at home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Blair Rohde-Frank, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Floyd, officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Floyd.
Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday at the church from noon until service time. Memorials may be directed to the Ruby Thorson Memorial Fund to be distributed to her favorite nonprofit organizations.

Ruby Mae Stewart Thorson was born June 30, 1930, on the Stewart farm in Floyd County.

Survivors include her husband, Don, of Charles City; four sons, Doug and Kurtis Thorson, both of Floyd, and David and Karry Thorson, both of Charles City; two daughters, Linda Zimmerman of Osage and Christy Fitzpatrick of Superior, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Truman and Don Stewart, both of Charles City, and Wilbur and Gordon Stewart, both of Floyd; and three sisters, June Leaman of Rudd, Mary Stransberry of Littleton, Colo., and Norma Wamsley of Elkhart, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.
