Emma (Borchers) Elfers – November 5, 1860 – February 1948

Charles City – Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Grossmann Funeral Home for Mrs. Emma Elfers, 87, who died at her home, 1410 Clark Street; burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at Floyd.

Mrs. Elfers, whose husband preceded her in death, has been a resident of this community for the past 33 years. She was born at Aurora, Illinois, November 5, 1860, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Borchers.

She leaves three daughters; Mrs. Lydia Smith, New York; Mrs. Myrtle Schultz, Greene; Mrs. Carolyn Waddell Charles city; one son; Morris, Charles City; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and one sister; Mrs. Eunice Burzette, Floyd.
