CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Roger Lloyd Byers, 44, of Charles City, died Monday, December 31, at Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, of a heart attack he suffered while fox hunting near Colwell.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; a son, Casey at home; two daughters, Kimberly and Kristine, both at home; and two brothers, Duane of Long Prairie, Minnesota, and Tony of Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ida Regel Byers; and two brothers, Dennis and Mike.

He served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, and was a chemical operator for Solvay Animal Health, Charles City

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hage Funeral Home, Charles City, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the family.
