Dennis A. “Denny” Percy, age 66, of Thomson, Illinois died on Thursday, March 21, 2013 surrounded by his family at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded. No services will be held at this time.

Denny was born on October 3, 1946, the son of Allen and Marcella (Jeffries) Percy in Mason City, Iowa. Denny was raised in Nora Springs, Iowa and attended Nora Springs High School. After high school, Denny proudly served his country in the United States Navy. During his enlistment, Denny trained with the Navy Seals and served two tours in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Denny married Jacalyn R."Jackie" Holkesvig on July 14, 1990 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

Denny owned a Service Station, was a field representative for Massey Fergeson and found his home with the Bobcat Company in 1988. Denny was a District Service and Sales Manager for Bobcat until retiring in 2009. While working for Bobcat, Denny traveled all across the country and they lived in several different places. Denny and his wife, Jackie moved from The Dalles, Oregon to Thomson in 2003. Denny loved the outdoors, especially gardening, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going to auctions and treasured spending time at home watching the Green Bay Packers with his wife, Jackie and his two special pet companions, Katie Sue and Frankie.

He also truly enjoyed helping others and helping stray and abused animals, Denny cherished all animals. Memorials may be given to an animal shelter or animal rescue of the donor’s choice in Denny’s memory.

Denny is survived by his wife, Jackie of Thomson; one sister, Corliss (Dennis) Mathers of North Springs, Iowa; his mother in-law, LaVerne Holkesvig of Leonard, North Dakota; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a special friend and fishing buddy, Dick Whitmore of Thomson. Denny was preceded in death by his parents.
